I highly recommend this book to site members even though my personal library is
pathetically thin. There is an excellent well-researched, twelve-page chapter dedicated to
the crews of the Hunley (I didn't know or remember that there was a Confederate MOH) using
sources I was totally ignorant of. Lots of good stuff in those twelve pages-including an
epilogue citing the re-discovery of the Hunley in 1995.
It is true it covers many heroes of unrelated actions, like the Gallant Pelham, but
that's fine. It is available in paperback, but I don't believe you will be donating this
volume to the Salvation Army in your lifetime.
